Uni Fair 2017
Posted: 15th September 2017
‘You may not know what you want to do; you may not know if you want to go to university – but that is ok’ was the message that ten Old Girls gave our current students and their parents at the Uni Fair on Saturday.
The Uni Fair launched our careers programme for 2017-18. The careers corridor is full of prospectuses but we wanted the girls to hear first-hand what their post eighteen career journey could be and has been like for girls who just a few years ago were sat in the Hall themselves. Exploring choices was a key message as the girls were given a taste of university life, with external speakers from the University of Surrey, the New College of Humanities, The Management Academy and RAF also sharing information on career and apprenticeship opportunities and the finance of going to university.
The girls spoke about their great memories of Wychwood and the fantastic bespoke preparation they had from their teachers that helped them to make the right decisions.
It was an interesting morning that got everyone thinking about their future and the many opportunities they have. Careers interviews have followed this week for Study II and there are many more events planned for the year ahead.
