Sports Dinner

Many thanks to Miss Barnes for the Wychwood Sports Dinner last night. The guest list itself had been competitive given the uptake in sport across the school over the last 4 years. Guest speaker Megan from the HInksey Sculling School explored the importance of strong female role models in sport, citing her rowing coach at school as significant in the development of her rowing successes. Deputy Head, Ms Sherlock, spoke on participation in sport and the vital role exercise plays in our lives. She paid tribute to the outstanding role model that Miss Barnes has been in the sporting lives of all the girls here, and Head, Mrs Johnson in turn thanked Miss Barnes for all that she has done for Wychwood and the toast ‘all the luck in the world’ said it all.
