Poetry Day

Posted: 18th May 2017

On the 10th May we had the pleasure to welcome A. F. Harrold and the pupils in years 5, 6 and 7 from Kitebrook school, which is an Independent Prep school in the Cotswolds. Ashley delivered two poetry workshops, as well as a whole school assembly. Our warmest thanks go to Mrs Evans, Mrs Collcutt, Mrs Crossley, Mrs Gauden, Mrs Kirby, Mrs Stephenson and our Sports Leaders who helped us organise a day full of poetry and activities.

A.F. Harrold has written the collection Things You Find in a Poet’s Beard (illustrated by Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell) and the Carnegie long listed novel The Imaginary, among other things. He is active in schools work, running workshops and doing performances. He has been Creative Writing Fellow at Reading University and in 2015 he was a judge for the Betjeman Poetry Prize.

A picture is worth a thousand words and here are the photos to show what a lovely day we all had!
