MUN at Tudor Hall

Wychwood Girls at Tudor Hall Model United Nations
Wychwood girls flew the United Nations Flag last weekend (1 and 2 December) at the Tudor Hall Model United Nations event. As usual the girls enjoyed meeting with new people in new surroundings. They all took a full part in the cut and thrust of debating world issues in a friendly and welcoming environment. The countries we were representing this time were Egypt and Australia and topics discussed included genetically modified organisms, sanitation in refugee camps and human trafficking. We had 2 first timers at Tudor Hall and they both thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
It was great that Sophia Guilfoyle and Rebecca Smith won Commended Delegation certificates for their contributions representing Australia in the General Assembly. Sophia was also commended for her efforts in the Health Committee.
The next MUN events are at Magdalen College School here in Oxford at the beginning of March 2019 and later on in March at Haberdasher’s Aske Boys School. Any girls interested in attending either of these events should make sure they come to the MUN club in Semi-Breve after school on Thursdays. New members always welcome.
