Geography Field Trip
Posted: 18th January 2019
On Wednesday 16th January, Study Geographers were privileged to attend a lecture given by Dr Nicholas Klingaman, Principle Research Fellow at the National Centre for Atmospheric Science, the Department of Meteorology, University of Reading.
Dr Klingaman spoke on Tropical Cyclones: current predictions and projections.
This fascinating and insightful lecture covered the causes and consequences of hurricanes and Dr Klingaman explained how science was making the prediction and projection of such storms more accurate and reliable (although there was still some way to go!).
This lecture formed part of the Oxford branch of the Geographical Association lecture programme and we are looking forward to attending more lectures later in the term.
