A Level Results 2020

Posted: 13th August 2020

The staff, governors, and head of Wychwood congratulate the Study II (Year 13) in Wychwood Sixth on their hard work and strong academic performances in unprecedented circumstances, resulting in an excellent 36 % A* grades, 58 % A*A grades and 84 % A*AB grades.  They have undertaken an individual and sometimes eclectic variety of subject combinations over some 23 subjects offered and have embraced the EPQ with excellent results of 50 % A* and 100 % A*A grades.  The introduction of the BTEC has demonstrated strengths in continuous assessment alongside training the ability to succeed in terminal examinations, although we are sad that the girls were denied the opportunity to prove themselves in this way.   We are enormously proud of them all.

These young women have maintained their extra-curricular and personal interests alongside their A Levels and will go on to a variety of prestigious institutions including Warwick, Exeter, London, Manchester, Central St Martins, and Liverpool to read courses that reflect their personalities and aspirations. In this very creative year group we have candidates taking art degrees and studying subjects as varied as Jewellery Design, Animation, Economics, English Literature and Occupational Therapy.

Those girls who have been at Wychwood for many years have gained the full advantages attendant on our small class sizes, academic rigour and personal tutoring.  We are delighted with their achievements, and wish them even more success in the future.   Furthermore, those girls who came into Wychwood Sixth two years ago and who have embraced our ethos and values have, in every case, outperformed their expectations whilst fulfilling ours.  We send them on their way with real pride and know that they will always value the decision they made to come to us for Sixth form.
