LT trip to Bristol
Posted: 2nd November 2017
On the morning of Friday 13th the LTs set off on a city break to Bristol. After a 2 hour bus journey which had a lot of singing and music turned up on full volume, we arrived. We started off with a street art tour of the city and we saw many artworks including ones by Banksy. We then had a very enjoyable street art workshop where we made our own pieces using stencils. Next we visited the Bristol Science Museum where we were left to explore and then we had a planetarium show which was incredible and left us all in wonderment and awe. After dinner we went to the theatre and saw Crazy for You, a musical about love which takes place in America. The day was greatly enjoyed by everyone.
The next morning we set off on a boat tour of the harbour, landing at the site of Brunel’s SS Great Britain. After a quick look around the gift shop and hastily bought souvenirs, we walked to the city maze which had a set of escape rooms. We were split into two groups with one group attempting the Bunker and the other the Office. Neither group managed to get out in the hour but it was great fun and we definitely bonded as a team. We then hiked up to the Clifton Suspension Bridge, which we realised was an ideal spot for pictures. Many photos later we decided to have an ice cream break before we headed into the caves. In the caves we had a steep climb down before we reached a balcony which jutted out of the cliff and gave excellent views of the river. We then headed back to the hostel to get our bags before we went home.
Overall it was a packed weekend which was enjoyed by everyone.
